Andrew Portas, MA, supports Medicaid initiatives at Aurrera Health and brings experience on Medicaid managed care, eligibility/enrollment systems, and financing. Andrew works on implementation support, technical assistance, project management, and policy analysis for state initiatives.
Before joining Aurrera Health, Andrew worked as a state health care consultant focused on improving states’ engagement with managed care partners, enhancing quality of care for eligible Medicaid recipients, and implementing multiple MMIS modernization initiatives across the project lifecycle. Prior to this, Andrew worked in a research role for a state legislature.
Andrew was proudly born and raised in New Jersey and now resides in Louisville, KY, where he enjoys long runs, exploring new hikes around the region, birdwatching, or spending time with his cat.
